Few men from the Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and Western PA communities have impacted the world as much as Attorney Dr. Cyril H. Wecht. The same can be said about Achieving Greatness Inc., which is now in its fifth year of dedicated entrepreneurial events, programs and community services. (AGI is the continuance of Champion Enterprises’ 40-year operation.)

Both powerhouses came together three years ago to establish the now-firmly planted Dr. Cyril H. Wecht Western Pennsylvania Humanitarian Awards, honoring individuals from our communities for the impact they have had in our region and the world.

This year’s top-level event was held Saturday, Jan. 20 at the fabulous Walnut Grill in Fox Chapel.

Make no mistake about it, just the mention of Dr. Wecht being the namesake of the event created by AGI CEO Bill Neal brings out some of the most powerful members of our community.

Topping this year’s list was humanitarian of the year, Dr. Stanley Marks, along with Attorney Glenn Mahone, Tianda Blount, Don Williams, Wynona Harper, marine veteran Major Mark Whited, Darryl Willey, The Honorable Judge Kim Clark, USAF Sergeant Katie Roberts, Warren Wilson Jr., Master Curtis Smith, Troy Miles, Mr. & Mrs. Rev. Okere, and Rosanna Guernica.

The afternoon was highlighted by guest speakers The Honorable Ralph Watson, Pittsburgh Steeler 4-time Super Bowl Champion Randy Grossman, Dr. William Simmons, Dr. Steven Evans, aka “The Singing Doctor,” and of course, Dr. Wecht himself.

The event was co-hosted by Bill Neal, Rita Gregory, Kevin Cameron, Dennis Briggs and Sensation Model Angela.
