Pittsburgh police say a 7-month-old was found unhurt by a good Samaritan near the spot where the infant’s mother was shot to death. The victim has been identified as Nicole Dailey, 26, of Pittsburgh.
Late Sunday night, Aug. 6, officers found the woman shot multiple times near her car at the intersection of Strauss and N. Charles Streets, in the city’s Perry South neighborhood. Dailey was taken to Allegheny General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police say the child did not appear to be hurt but was taken to a hospital to be checked out.
Police have not released any information on possible suspects; anyone with information is asked to call the Violent Crime Unit at 412-323-7800. Callers may remain anonymous.
