Poetry Event

JUNE 24—Common Conversation412 will host a spoken word event, 5 to 8 p.m., at the Noble Manor Lanes, 2440 Noblestown Road. The event is free and open to the public.

Homewood 5K Run & 10K Bike Race

JUNE 24—The Homewood Children’s Village will host its annual 5K run and 10K bike race to promote healthy lifestyles in Homewood. Participants can run, jog or powerwalk the 5K course through the neighborhood, or ride two loops on a bike. If you don’t have one, you can rent one—for free—from Healthy Ride. Volunteers are also needed to ensure safety along the route and to cheer participants. For more information or to volunteer, call 412-727-7605, ext. 16.

IT & Engineering Open House

JUNE 27—The Community College of Allegheny County will host an IT & Engineering Discovery Night at its South Campus, Room G311, 1750 Clairton Road (Route 885), West Mifflin. Attendees will learn about CCAC South Campus Information Technology and Engineering programs, including Civil Engineering Technology, Cybersecurity, Electronic Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, and Information Technology Support. Information about admissions, financial aid, transfer programs and articulation agreements with four-year colleges and universities will also be available.
