Opal Lee National Junteenth March Comes to Hill

NOV. 26—Opal Lee, the 90-year-old Texan, continues her march across the country to gain signatures on a Petition to present to President Obama requesting a National Day of Recognition for the Juneteenth Celebration. Beginning at 1 p.m., she will march from from Bethel AME Church, 2720 Webster Ave. to Freedom Corner, Center Avenue and Crawford St. in the Hill District where she will conduct a press conference. NAACP Elections

NOV. 29—The NAACP Pittsburgh Branch will hold the election of officers and at-large members of the Executive Committee at the Hill House Association, 1835 Centre Avenue, 2nd Floor Conference Rooms, Pittsburgh, PA  15219. Polls will open from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In order to vote in a Branch Election, one must be a member in good standing of the Branch 30 days prior to the election.
