Atlanta rapper Shawty Lo, who was known as much for his music as fathering 11 children with 10 women, died in a fiery car crash early Wednesday, reports the AJC.
The rapper’s brother and a manager identified the victim as Carlos Walker, his birth name. The 40-year-old was “known for the hit “Dey Know,” and was also a member of the Atlanta rap group D4L, who made the hit “Laffy Taffy:” writes the news outlet:
The accident happened when a white Audi went over a guardrail, hit two trees and burst into flames. The driver was ejected from the Audi and pronounced dead on the scene, [Fulton police spokeswoman Cpl. Maureen] Smith said. Two other people in the car were injured and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
Shawty Lo made news in 2013 when the Oxygen network announced plans for a special about his blended family, which includes 11 children with 10 women. After outrage and online petitions, the special entitled “All My Babies’ Mamas” was scrapped before it even aired.
This is a developing story…
