VA Mobile Vet Center Visits
Sept. 14-17—The Department of Veterans Affairs Mobile Vet Center will visit locations around Pittsburgh to help Veterans learn about the services available at the three area Vet Centers . The 40-foot Mobile Vet Center vehicle provides space for confidential counseling services and can virtually connect veterans with clinicians at VA medical centers for counseling, outreach and referral services for combat veterans and their families. On Sept. 14, the Mobile Center will stop at both the Veterans Leadership Program, 2931 Smallman Street, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and at Highmark Stadium at Station Square at 5:30 p.m. For information on other locations and times, call 412-920-1765.
African American History Presentation
SEPT. 17—The Association for the Study of African American Life and History will present Pittsburgh’s African American Trailblazers, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Community College of Allegheny County Forrester Student Service Center, 808 Ridge Ave. On Pittsburgh’s North Side. The event features panel presentations and discussion moderated by retired University of Pittsburgh Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Robert Hill and former CCAC Editor/Program coordinator for the Boyce Collegian. The event is free and will feature light refreshments.
