PITTSBURGH, PA) – In observance of Labor Day, City of Pittsburgh offices will be closed and there will be no garbage collection on Monday, Sept. 5, but six regional city pools will be open.
Weather permitting, all six Citiparks spray parks will be open from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and six Citiparks swimming pools will be open from 1 – 5:45 p.m. Labor Day is the final day of operation for the following Citiparks pools: Highland Park, Jack Stack (Brighton Heights), Moore (Brookline), Ormsby (South Side), Ream (Mt. Washington) and Sue Murray (North Side).
In addition to city offices, Citiparks’ 10 recreation centers and 14 Healthy Active Living centers for seniors will be closed Monday. The Farmers Market in East Liberty is also closed on Monday. All city offices and facilities will reopen Tuesday.
There will not be any city refuse, bulk waste or recycling collection on Monday and all collections will be one day later for the entire week.
The schedule will proceed as follows: If your scheduled day of collection is Monday, Sept. 5 you will be serviced on Tuesday, Sept.6. If your collection day is Tuesday, Sept. 6 you will be serviced on Wednesday, and so on through Saturday.
