School started back for some kids last week, some this week, and some next week. Parents are rejoicing while the kids are sad to see the summer of fun and games end. On the whole this should be an interesting and challenging year for Pittsburgh students and parents in public schools as well as charter and private schools.
A new superintendent, Anthony Hamlet, who appears to be an aggressive man who knows his business, heads Pittsburgh Public Schools. He’s not only vitally concerned about the education of all youth, but knows how to reach them so that they can be educated.
It’s not that Black kids can’t be educated it’s simply a matter of motivating them and their parents to the fact that education is the only way to a better life.
To better illustrate this fact businesses, executives, and concerned citizens have become involved in the schools trying to reach students, but just as important is linking the educational system into the real world.
