Music in the Park

This summer, music lovers can once again relax on the lawn at Highland Park to the sounds of jazz performed by Pittsburgh’s finest musicians during the ever-popular “Reservoir of Jazz” concert series. In 2016 the series includes a Labor Day weekend concert.  Free performances will take place Sept. 4, from 5–7 p.m., by the fountain at the Highland Avenue entrance to Highland Park. For more information concerning this Citiparks concert series, visit http://www.Citiparks.net or call 412-255-2493.

Allegheny County Music Festival

Sept. 4—The Allegheny County Music Festival, featuring Pittsburgh-based Rusted Root and several local bands, will be held at the amphitheater in Hartwood Acres Park in Hampton. Opening acts begin at 5 p.m. and Rusted Root will take the stage at 8 p.m. The suggested donation is $20 per car to benefit the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund. The Fund finances requests from children and youth receiving services through the Allegheny County Department of Human Services or Allegheny County Juvenile Probation for life-enriching items and opportunities not otherwise available through traditional government sources.
