Small Business Workshop
August 27—The Chatham Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship presents Small Business Basics, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in the Mellon at its Shadyside Campus. Entrepreneurs will provide lessons learned and experts in areas including sales, accounting, and financing will provide brief presentations and will be available for participant Q&A at this informal workshop. The fee is $30.

State Contracting Networking Opportunity
AUG. 31—The Department of General Services will hold a meeting for small businesses interested in sub-contractor opportunities through its Job Order Contracting program, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Ave. Suite 201, Pittsburgh, 15206. Opportunities involve projects with a value of $300,000 or less. The department estimates there are approximately 62 projects worth a total nearly $8.4 million statewide. Regionally, there are 32 projects in the Eastern region worth more than $4.4 million; 16 projects in the Central region worth nearly 2.4 million; and 14 projects worth nearly $1.6 million.
