Fulton County Police Department and Fulton County Parks & Rec to Announce Launch of Police Athletic League
The Atlanta Hawks also helped dedicate a new basketball court at Grant Park earlier this year.
The Atlanta Hawks Foundation and Fulton County Parks and Recreation will unveil a newly-renovated basketball court at the Cliftondale Park Recreation Center on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 10 a.m.
Hawks Guard/Forward Thabo Sefolosha and Fulton County Chairman John H. Eaves will be joined on the program by Fulton County Commissioner Emma L. Darnell of District 6, Parks and Recreation Director Tony M. Phillips, and Fulton County Police Chief Gary Stiles. The Fulton County government officials will announce the launch of a new Police Athletic League.
The new Hawks court at Cliftondale Park Recreation Center should be similar to this one at Grant Park.
Hawks PA Announcer and V-103 radio personality Ryan Cameron will serve as emcee, with team organist Sir Foster set to perform musical selections. Team mascot Harry the Hawk is also scheduled to attend on behalf of the organization.
The free community celebration will feature activities and refreshments for guests and is open to the public. The refurbished court at the Cliftondale Park Recreation Center is the third renovation completed by the Hawks Foundation and developer CBA Sports in 2016.
