ULISH CARTER

Finally it’s Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump for the presidency of the United States, as I expected months ago when Trump won his first primary and Clinton announced she was running.

Now that both parties not only have their candidate in place with each candidate having won by large margins over their opponents they have selected their vice presidential running mates. Now they can turn their full attention toward each other.

Trump represents the White males over 50 who see this country moving away from them into a more diverse looking country with women, Blacks and Latinos receiving more of their share of the wealth as well as the rest of the world sharing in the wealth that once was reserved for the United States.

It’s still a question mark if the conservative Whites will support Trump because many didn’t show at the GOP Convention.

When President Obama beat John McCain in 2008 picking up 53 percent of the votes the country was in a deep recession on the verge of collapse. Obama pulled it off its knees and as a thank you the people put him in office again with a 51 to 48 percent win over Mitt Romney. And now eight years after saving the country from a depression and pulling it back on its feet despite having to deal with a do nothing Republican House and Senate that tried to block every bill, every effort he attempted, this country is back on its feet and moving forward, much like it was after Bill Clinton’s eight years. Yet the Republicans are attempting to make us believe the country is worse off now than when President Obama took office.
