College Enrollment Event

JULY 20—CCAC will hold a college-wide enrollment event at all eight of its locations, from 6-9 p.m. for prospective students and families. Individuals who bring their high school diploma, GED or college transcripts can complete their CCAC registration in one day. Attendees can take placement tests, meet with an advisor and learn about CCAC’s program offerings in the arts and humanities; business; education, social and behavioral sciences and human services; health; science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and the skilled trades. Forum on Heroin and Opioid Addiction

JULY 27—State Rep. Dom Costa, D-Sharpsburg, will host a public forum on heroin and opioid addiction in the Sharpsburg Borough Building, 1611 Main Street, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. He will be joined by area law enforcement, health care professionals, and drug and addiction specialists to discuss ways to work together to combat the epidemic. Market Square Farmers Market

CONTINUING—The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership presents the 12th Annual Market Square Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 27. The opening day event includes flower bulb and tree giveaways sponsored by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. This season will also see the addition of 10 new full and part-time vendors including Two Acres Farms, A519 Chocolate and Pittsburgh Fudge Co. Again this year, Just Harvest’s Fresh Access program will allow credit/debit and food stamp EBT cards to be used to purchase fresh produce, meat, dairy and baked goods.
