PITTSBURGH, PA – At approximately 4:20 a.m. , Zone 4 Officers  were dispatched to a residence near the intersection of Hazelwood Avenue and Monongahela Street for a report of a possible domestic dispute and shots fired. Officers found evidence of a struggle and shots fired in the residence, which is in the 4700 block of Monongahela Street.

The investigation further determined that a male actor, later identified as 41-year-old Chonel Dixon, knocked on the door at approximately 4:10 a.m. and pushed his way in when the male victim answered. Dixon had a black pistol and demanded to see a female who was with the victim. A dispute followed and two shots were fired inside of the residence.  A three-year-old and five-year-old were in the residence at the time.

The female, along with the two children, drove to another residence in the 5100 block of Blair Street. Due to the circumstances, SWAT was called to the scene. SWAT eventual made verbal contact with Dixon and he surrendered without incident. He faces charges of aggravated assault and burglary.
