TWENTY-FIVE YEARS AND COUNTING—Magic Palace Beauty Salon owner Reta Wallace doing what she loves for over two decades.

Twenty-five years and growing is how Reta Wallace views the future of her business. Just as excited today as she was in June of 1991 when she opened the doors of Magic Palace Beauty Salon at its first location, 528 Locust St. in McKeesport, Wallace says she continues to love what she does.

‘Giving back and saying thank you’

Now located a block away from her original site at 604 Locust St. with 300 and more clients, some that have been with her from the beginning speaking with a smile Wallace says she is happy to be doing what she loves for so long in a city that has and is experiencing change. “One of my clients tells me that Magic Palace is one of the longest running Black woman owned establishments in McKeesport.”

As a token of her appreciation to her clients and longtime supporters, Wallace is celebrating her 25 anniversary Sunday June 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Glassport American Legion, 411 Monongahela Ave. in Glassport. “This is my way of giving back and saying thank you,” said Wallace pointing out that the event will consist of dinner and a fashion show. “I’m just going to sit back and let my sisters Patricia, Pricilla and Madeline be in charge of everything.”
