PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Missing Person/Sex Assault and Family Crisis Unit is investigating a report of an attempted child luring in Homewood.

According to the investigation, a 4th grade student was walking to school along the 7000 block of Bennett Street at approximately 8:50 a.m.  when he was approached by a male in a white, older-style conversion van. The driver asked the student where he was going, if he wanted a ride to school, and where he lives. The student ran to the safety of his home.

The driver is described as a white male in his ’50s with a blonde beard and blonde hair. He had a stocky build. He was wearing a black T-shirt with white lettering.

Anyone with information that could be helpful in this investigation is encouraged to call 911.
