Tracee Ellis Ross rocked the Canadian tuxedo (aka denim on denim) for her interview with The New Potato. She talks her personal definition of beauty, advice she would give her younger self, her style icons, and more.

The beauty was shot at The Apartment by The Line and styled herself. She’s wearing boyfriend jeans, a denim-esq sweatshirt and Christian Louboutin Amazoulo Caged Calf Hair Leopard Print Open Toe Sandals. The best part of her footwear was the interesting way she styled it. She added a pop of color with a purple sock that added dimension to the entire look.

Socks with heels or sandals aren’t new; however, I normally see the look paired with white socks and pumps or feminine socks (ruffles at the cuff) with sandals. I like how Tracee switched it up!

She was candid in her interview and even gave the following advice to her younger self (that we are taking now!):

“We live in a world that will tell you that life is all about getting things, and getting what you want. I would tell my younger self that if I stay focused on getting to know myself, accepting myself, loving myself, and allowing myself to be myself that life will become less about getting things and more about building experiences that match who I am.”

Continue to build experiences Tracee and with such style!

Beauties, what do you think of this socks and sandals look?
