Combined, all sources of income including record sales, revenue from fashion lines, performing earnings, royalties and sanctions, multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning recording artist and entrepreneur Beyoncé Knowles’ reported individual net worth is an estimated $450 million. Her sophisticated advertising skills, has assisted in establishing her as one of the most affluent women in entertainment history. In her words “girls rule the world.”

With the aim to assist women rule the world throughout the Western Pennsylvania region in the area of small businesses, the U.S. Small Business Administration recently awarded a grant to the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Chatham University to staff a Women’s Business Center.

“This is a great day in Western Pennsylvania,” exclaimed Kelly Hunt, SBA Pittsburgh District director while announcing the award. As a woman entrepreneur, she said she is well aware of what it takes to run a business and recognizes that there is nothing women business owners can’t do.

“I know that we are every bit as strong as any other small business owner, and that we can use all resources that everyone else can use but that does not mean that it is not nice to come to a place where we can meet with other women who understand the same struggles and to share and receive council from them. It’s very empowering.”
