JAMES JACKSON (22) led Allderdice with 21 points.

The entire city of Pittsburgh got behind the Allderdice Dragons and they connected a community and bridged a generational gap between the young and old. They dominated most opponents and captured the attention of the city and their school. Ten buses from Allderdice made the trip to Hershey.

“Dragon Mania” had the Giant Center crowd amped up and the presence of Allderdice’s “Big Three” electrified a crowd where the majority of the fans came to see them.

For a moment, it appeared Allderdice was about to put a stranglehold on its first Class AAAA state title in school history.

Allderdice jumped out to a 10-0 lead as Roman Catholic (27-4) had turnovers on its first five possessions.

Allderdice (28-2), seeking to become only the third City League team to win a PIAA crown since 1980, was led by James “Remember My Name” Jackson’s 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting and 19 by Ramon Creighton.
