LOUIS ‘HOP’ KENDRICK

It is election time and all of the candidates regardless which political party they represent are spending unbelievable amounts of money trying to influence the voters how they want to be identified. There generally are three terms they use conservative, moderate, middle class, but very rarely liberal. In my personal opinion as a Black man a real conservative wants things to remain the same never being provided with an opportunity to drive or own the bus, but just to ride in the back of the bus. A liberal is willing to agree that I can drive and ride in the front of the bus, but hesitates when it comes to supporting us to own the bus. The majority find it easier to portray themselves as middleclass because that includes those who are the over whelming majority of working persons. The contradiction is if they are so concerned about us why do the rich factions of this country contribute billions to their campaign, what do they expect in return? They shun the liberal label because that would be interpreted as them supporting us working alongside them, living next door to them and even marrying into their families.

I have always made the comparison of Down South conservatives and Up South liberals.
