MARCH 3—The Small Business Council, along with the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania and the Pittsburgh North Regional Chamber, will host “The Pension Time Bomb: Is Your Business Prepared?” at 8 a.m. at the Pittsburgh Marriott North, 100 Cranberry Woods Dr., Cranberry. This session, presented by Pa. Auditor General Eugene DePasquale and state Representative John McGinnis, will teach attendees how unfunded $8 billion municipal and $50 billion state pension liabilities will affect one’s business, and what one can do about it. MARCH 4—Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center will host the Social Media Series: Developing a Plan of Attack from 12:30-3:30 p.m. at Duquesne University, Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Oakland. This is the first session in a three-part series that is designed for business-to-business and business-to-consumer organizations that want to learn the simple steps for creating a social media plan and the best tools for their specific market. This session will offer an overview of the various social media networks and provide a networking footprint. The next sessions will be March 11 and 18. Registration is required.
