PITTSBURGH, PA – Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, 2016, Zone 5 Officers and Paramedics were dispatched to Frankstown Avenue near N. Homewood Avenue for the report of a male who had been shot. Upon arrival they discovered a 27-year-old male who had been shot multiple times. Paramedics transported the victim to UPMC Presby where he was pronounced deceased.

According to the investigation, it is believed that the victim was exiting a store in the 7200 block of Frankstown Avenue when an unknown actor opened fire. The actor fled on foot on Frankstown toward Sterrett Street. He is described as a Black male with a dark complexion, approximately 6’1” tall with a thin build and shoulder length dread locks.

Invetigators with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Violent Crime Unite are aware that several innocent bystanders, including children who were getting off of school buses, were in the immediate vacinity of this homicide. Investigators are requesting the assistance of the public in indentifying and apprehending the shooter. A photo is also being released.
