Black Veterans Celebration
FEB. 13—Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum Trust Inc. will host the 6th Annual African-American Heritage Celebration “Black Veterans with Success: Their History and Commitment to Excellence” at 1 p.m. at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum, Gettysburg Room, 4141 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The afternoon will feature guest panelists who will exemplify ways that success can be achieved as they share their stories. All military and veterans are encouraged to attend. Heart Month Screenings
FEB. 14—The UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute and the American Heart Association will host Heart Month Screenings from -11:30 a.m. at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, 271 Paulson Ave., East Liberty. During February, in recognition of Heart Month and National Wear Red Day, these organizations will host events to raise awareness for the fight against cardiovascular disease in women.
