Women Business Leaders Breakfast
FEB. 12—The Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship at Chatham University will host its Women Business Leaders Breakfast Series from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Chatham University, James Laughlin Music Hall, Woodland Road, Shadyside. The topic of the session is “Mobile Business on the Move” and will feature speakers Kim Schultz of Vantastic Mobile Grooming, Jackee Ging of Style Truck, Michelle Pendel of Farm Truck Foods and Sara Lechman of Miss Meatball. The breakfast series features prominent regional women business leaders presenting a variety of progressive business topics that are essential for women in business. Registration is required. Advancing Entrepreneurship in the Mon Valley
FEB. 18—The University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence and the University Center for Social and Urban Research, and the Small Business Development Center will host the Advancing Entrepreneurship in the Mon Valley Workshop Series from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Carnegie Library of Homestead, 510 E. 10th Ave., Munhall. This workshop, titled “The First Step: Mechanics of Starting a Small Business,” is designed for individuals who have never operated their own business or who want to take it from their garage to a storefront Attendees will learn the necessary steps to start a new business and how to avoid some common pitfalls.
