Just Us…was a phrase Richard Pryor came up with when talking about a Criminal Justice System in America loaded with Blacks. But we can also use this term when talking about murders in America, or the nicer wording, homicides.
The Pittsburgh Courier has been focusing on this issue of Black on Black murders for a number of years, it finally seems like some of the White media, and even some of the Black media, and others in power are beginning to take notice and pick it up. The last two weeks Public Source did a very in-depth two part series on Black on Black homicides in Pittsburgh and the high number of unsolved Black murders.
There was nothing revealed in this series that we didn’t already know, and have covered before, but it was interesting to see it from another source.
One of the points they made was that the violence was in pockets. A low income Black community could be right next to a middle income White or mixed community and the violence will be basically concentrated in the Black communities.
