Many organizations helped spread holiday cheer throughout this past holiday season with the Leave Your Legacy and Josh Gibson Foundations joining forces to hold their “First Annual West Side Holiday Celebration” at Langley K-8 school.

“This event came about by sitting around and thinking about how every part of Pittsburgh has places for kids to go and have fun except the West Side,” said Greg McGhee, founder of Leave Your Legacy Foundation. “Also, just the love I have for kids and wanting to give back to my community.“

McGhee, who was a star quarterback for Perry High School, now plays for the B.C. Lions in the CFL.

The event started with a celebrity basketball game. The basketball players consisted of local artists, professional CFL players and coaches. A Chinese auction was also held; youth had a chance to win gifts and bicycles. Santa Clause and Steelers Martavis Bryant were there for the children.
