As a part of the East Borough NAACP rebirth after a brief absence, the chapter recently hosted their Human Rights Dinner and Excellence in Business Awards Ceremony.

“The dinner and awards ceremony was a culmination of our year-long activities,” said Lori Y. Rue, chair for the Human Rights Dinner Planning committee. “It was a great success for our members as it met our goals of fundraising, recognizing local businesses, and celebrating the rebirth of the chapter.”

theresatamaraMore than 60 people were on hand during the affair that celebrated the accomplishments of 10 businesses and organizations located in the East Borough NAACP coverage region. Areas include Braddock, Braddock Hills, Chalfont, Church Hills, East Allegheny, East Pittsburgh, Eastmont, Edgewood, Forest Hills, North Braddock, North Versailles, Rankin, Regent Square, Swissvale, Turtle Creek and Wall.
