In the upcoming election, in my personal estimation the most important vote must be the Allegheny County Council 10th District seat, one currently occupied by Councilman William “Bill” Robinson. There presently are two Black councilpersons, namely Councilwoman Amanda Green and Councilman William “Bill” Robinson and both are stepping down from their positions. The Allegheny Council has the potential with the upcoming election t be an all-White council. How? By the absence not of color of skin, but the absence of the Black mindset.

If you recall in the primary a youthful Black man, who resides in Homewood was the winner, but the powers in the party were unhappy with him, because they had a colored fellow whom they own. The alleged winner was challenged and lost, and he thereby was removed from the ballot and Old Massa’s personal choice became the Democratic Party candidate. At first I was so upset I thought I would just ignore the position and not cast a vote for anyone. However I became aware of the fact that there was a young Black man with a wife and three children, who graduated from Duquesne University, and has a background of what I constantly require of those I support and that is the three C’s—Concern, Caring and Commitment.

There was a meeting held and the young Black man was interviewed and he handled himself extremely well. I left the meeting with a new sense of hope, not for me but for us. I have known the party’s candidate for a number of years and I can say with no hesitation or reservation that he is owned by those who don’t look like me. We, you and I, must vote smart on Election Day, if you care about you, yours, and the community then you must go to the polls on Election Day and cast your vote for a Black man who will serve the Black communities well, because he has the correct mindset, a Black mindset.

The candidate’s name is Todd Elliott Koger. Remember to tell your family and friends.
