HAPPY GRAD—Asia McClain enjoying a moment after graduation.

HAPPY GRAD—Asia McClain enjoying a moment after graduation.

For the past four years, Asia McClain has heard her grandmother preach,  “Your education comes first.”

McClain did just that, and the result still was more than she thought was possible. She graduated, from Clark Atlanta University, Magna Cum Laude, an academic level of distinction used by educational institutions to signify an academic degree which was received “with great honor.”

McClain was born and raised in the city of Pittsburgh and currently resides in Orlando, Fla.  She ran for the Penn Hills Eagles Track Club founded by coach Charles Carter based in Penn Hills with Steel City and Future Stars.

Anyone who watched McClain compete was a witness to an exceptionally smart athlete, somebody who could make adjustments to her competition and win.
