Rich Homie Quan’s father, Corey Lamar, was reportedly shot several times during an attempted robbery on Sept. 29 on the west side of Atlanta.
The attempted robbery occurred in the early morning hours at Lamar’s barbershop.
While opening the barbershop, Lamar was shot three times by a gunman. A witness to the shooting said he gave chase to the gunman who eventually jumped in a car and got away and is currently still at large, reports the New York Daily News.
Lamar is the manager for the rapper Quan, who has achieve heightened international fame through the hit club anthem “Lifestyle” with Young Thug. Quan has also bent eh subject of crooked looks from fans after Young Thug referred to Quan as his “hubbie,” a shortened nickname meaning “husband.”
Quan’s father was rushed to the hospital following the shooting and is in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive.
This is not the first time violence has been directed at the barber shop within the last month. Employees at the barbershop said the location was shot at in late August.
Mainstream news outlets quickly and predictably blamed a rap beef between Rich Homie Quan and another rapper, though they have yet to identify whom this person might be, if he exists at all.
