Artist JazzGarcelle in collaboration with Opus One Productions produced a live music event July 12 to help bring R&B Soul full circle.
The event, entitled “360 Degrees of R&B Soul” and held at Club Cafe, brought Pittsburgh’s local R&B vocalists and a spoken word artist to the forefront of the Pittsburgh music scene.
The dynamic vocalist with an incredible three-piece band, got the audience’s full attention when she stepped on stage, demonstrating why JazzGarcelle is not your typical “R&B/pop singer.” Though singing the songs of today’s hit makers and classics from Anita Baker, JazzGarcelle put her own flavor into the covers and created her own rendition while staying true to the music!
“I wanted to create an event where people that love R&B Soul can come and enjoy that genre, also some songs will be arranged slightly different in a unique new way or written into medleys,” JazzGarcelle said.
This is the beginning of JazzGarcelle Entertainment, she said. “I believe that if you truly want something you have to create a platform to get there, work your hardest, most of all having a plan and team who believes in what you do. I love performing sharing my talent I want to create events where Pittsburgh’s R&B Soul artists have opportunities to be heard, and audiences entertained.”
JazzGarcelle is currently in the studio working diligently on her EP series and debut album. She was nominated April 2013 for Best R&B Artist at Pittsburgh Underground Music Awards.
