PITTSBURGH (AP) – Pittsburgh police have been investigating a body found in the woods near a housing project where three other people have been shot – two fatally – in less than a week.

Police found the body after residents reported finding it in some woods near the Northview Heights complex about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The witnesses told police they found the body after seeing something dumped from a car.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office did not immediately identify the body or a cause of death on Monday.

The gated community is owned by The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh.

Three people have been shot at the complex in two separate incidents since Wednesday. It wasn’t immediately clear if the body found Sunday was connected to either or both of those incidents.
