In the 14th Congressional District Mike Doyle has proven to be a friend to the African-American community and should be kept in office.

Ed Gainey

In the 24th District Ed Gainey is being challenged by Todd Kroger and William Anderson. We know very little about either, but we do know that Gainey has become one of the most active elected officials in years. He has added new meaning to representative in that he’s everywhere. He has been a very active representative and should continue to represent the 24th District.

While 32nd District Representative Anthony DeLuca Sr. has served the community for a long time and done so well, it’s candidate Kristopher Wiegand, Esq., that has the fresh ideas to move the district forward. Ideas such as providing universal healthcare coverage that’s affordable through the placement of clinics within the community; requiring “mega-nonprofits” to pay their “fair share” in property taxes to benefit local municipalities; implementing a gas extraction tax to provide royalties to Pennsylvania residents; reforming the laws to legalize medical marijuana and decriminalize it; and standardizing per-pupil funding to allocate money for underfunded schools. But most importantly, he wants to be visible and well engaged in the communities he serves, and make it a place where people are proud to own homes, not just rent them.

We encourage everyone no matter where you live, or which party you belong to or what candidate you support, to come out and vote, Tuesday, May 20.
