The C.H. Foggie/Allegheny AMEZ Conference Choir and the Black History Workshop Choir hosted its Annual Black History Month Musical Concert, Feb. 24, at Homewood AMEZ Church, located at 724 N. Homewood Ave., in Homewood. A special recognition was presented to musician and songwriter Philip Russell.


HONORED GUEST—Philip Russell, an honoree at the Black History event, poses with wife, Daisy, standing behind him. Russell composed more than 1500 songs.


JAMES WHITE, who is directing the choir, also emceed the event.
