With that reality, the African-American community must VOTE to make the smartest choice for mayor, the person with the clearest track record of effectiveness in the Black communities and the city. Of the two candidates, Bill Peduto came in second among Black voters in the April 19 straw poll held by the Black Political Convention. Jack Wagner came in last among Black voters. Bill Peduto does not represent the old political guard of 40 years. He represents change—you remember that word from 2008—a new coalition with more opportunities for seats at the table of power. Like Obama, his support is from the ground up, not from the top down. He believes power should primarily rest with the people, not unilaterally from the halls of city government or Harrisburg. If you’re ready for a new day, then show up to vote for Bill Peduto on May 21.
