Since the inception of the Pittsburgh Council of Men in May of 1972, the Pittsburgh Council of Men has donated over $35,000 to various agencies and community organizations. Their largest fundraising effort is the PCM annual Thanksgiving Dance, which at times attracts close to 500 guests.
PCM is most proud of a successful project that was initiated in 1987. PCM developed a 40 unit, four story housing complex for handicapped and elderly residents. The project represents a major effort by an African-American men’s organization in the Pittsburgh area.
PCM consists of more than 30 members and on Nov. 23 introduced their newest member, Clayton Robinson. Each member provides support and service to the community through donations and other events, which reflect the level of commitment made by each member. Their annual fall dance was a perfect way to kick off the holiday season of parties. Guests danced, mingled, and enjoyed seeing friends and family in town to celebrate the holiday.
