The FROGS (Friendly Rivalry Often Generates Success) men social organization, known for having a good time for more than 102 years, held their annual FROGS Formal on July 21 at the Wyndham Grand Hotel.

THE QUEEN AND HER FAMILY—Arthur and Louise Sheffield, Stephanie May Sheffield, and Fannie Farmer and Grant Farmer Sr.

After a week that included a golf outing and private dinner with the wives, hundreds of guests were in their finest and enjoyed a spirited cocktail reception and a scrumptious dinner at the newest Pittsburgh hotel.

FROGS President Clarence Curry welcomed the group while Chaplain Ted Roberts delivered the invocation. The soundtrack was provided by the Kevin Howard Quartet. Elaine Effort, of KQV, was the mistress of ceremonies and was introduced by her husband, Edmund Effort, DDS.

After dinner it was time for the centerpiece of the evening, the crowning and presentation of the FROGS’ Queen, Stephanie May Sheffield. Her court included Katrina and Katelyn Sheffield, who are twins and seniors at Moon High School. The trio was escorted by Aaron Sheffield, Art Sheffield and Grant Farmer Jr. The grandparents, Fannie Farmer and Grant Farmer Sr., and parents, Arthur and Louise Sheffield, beamed with pride as Sheffield was crowned as the FROGS Queen 2012.

Also on this evening, the newest members of the FROGS were introduced: Larry Victum and Aaron Mann. Soulful R&B group Artistree completed the evening with music designed to dance and listen to.
