On May 11, hundreds of women attended “Pittsburgh Go Red for Women Annual Luncheon and Conference” at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown. It was a day where ladies made it their mission to learn by attending workshops where they learned about matters of the heart, sleep disorders that affect the heart, finances, vitamins and supplements, and they even found that being heart healthy can be trendy as they learned about trendy heart healthy menu options.

ON A MISSION—Megan Dillon, Wendy McCabe, Karen Colbert and Jennifer Abney

The next mission was to lunch and enjoy guest speaker Susan Koeppen, News anchor, KDKA. Koeppen shared her touching story of bravery and survival, her recent heart surgery and her plans for the future. Jennifer Abney, News Anchor, Channel 11 Morning News, was a delightful emcee and Jan McInnis, comedian and professional speaker, brought humor to the stage as she spoke about life’s day to day challenges. Sue McMurdy, 2012 Go Red for Women Chair, said, “I want to challenge all of you to take charge of your total health. Be concerned and do something in every area of your life, every day, and challenge those around you to do the same.”
