I haven’t weighed in on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for a while. After watching the most recent episode, part one of their trip to South Africa, I had to break my silence. First of all, I still believe you have to have a living and breathing husband to be a housewife. “I’m just saying.” It seems on RHOA, which should stand for the “Real Hussies of Atlanta,” as long as you can bring the noise you are eligible to be on the show.

The latest addition to the show is Marlo Hampton, who has been arrested a whopping seven times between 1999-2003 on various charges. In case you’re curious (don’t lie, you’re totally curious), they are, in order:

•Aggravated Battery w/Great Bodily Harm

•Violation of Probation

•Violation of Probation

•Obtained Property For Worthless Check

•Felon in Possession Of Firearm/Violation of Probation

•Violation of Probation

“Let me first state that I am not ashamed of my past as that has helped me become a better woman today. We all have a past and my hard-knock childhood in and out of the Foster Care system is a reflection on a bigger issue we are faced with here in America, a broken Foster Care system. My present charge in life is to live with God in my heart and help young women especially from the foster care system avoid the challenges I faced. I’m more than just what is being said of me and I have a story to tell,” said Hampton.

However, “Straight From the A” is reporting that Marlo’s altercation in the club several years ago was much more serious than she let on, and ultimately had a tragic end.

Apparently, Marlo slashed open a girl’s face with a sharp object (possibly a razor) following an argument over a man. The young woman was so severely injured that she almost bled to death in the club, and was left horribly disfigured following the incident.

Marlo was then charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm, and subsequently spent time in jail. Tragically, the woman Marlo fought with that night committed suicide by jumping off of a bridge in 2005—six years after the altercation—leaving behind a son and numerous other family members.

Wow, Marlo, and you blame this all on being a part of the foster care system? What do you blame your actions on in South Africa? Who gets upset about not being invited to a party that is being held by someone you don’t even know? I wouldn’t take you to a dogfight—or on second thought, maybe that is the only place I would take you because you would probably win.

The rumor is that Hampton may replace Nene Leakes or Kim Zolziack, please say it isn’t so. I don’t think I could take it. Did you know that Hampton has a website where she sells her clothes? I guess that makes her an entrepreneur. The site says some of the clothes have been “featured” on the show. That is some closet she has and how much are the wives getting paid for the Luboutin and Louis Vuitton endorsements and placements? I really want to know. Maybe all the drama that the ladies are bringing—and I’m talking to you, too, Cynthia—is in an effort to keep their contract alive.
