:10 You know I try not to get too nasty with you people, (especially you Wilkinsburg grads that haven’t won a thing since Coach Simon played). Sorry my bad…anyway back to my point, YOU MUST GO SEE RED TAILS! The movie is our history. It tells the story that White Hollywood doesn’t want to tell. Just go, stop with the excuses and just go!

:09 See, you people don’t think I know what I am talking about…that’s right I said “you people!” Pitt upsets Georgetown, the 9th ranked team in the nation 72-60. I told you coach Jamie Dixon would fix it. And they will challenge for the Big East Crown.

:08 That said, you think Trevon Woodall is not important to the team, or for that matter you think the point guard doesn’t make a huge difference? Just ask the guys that played with Magic, Isaiah, Oscar and West; see what they tell you.

:07 Sid “The Kid” Crosby has a neck injury, not a threat to end his career though. That’s right you know it…that’s all I got.

:06 Listen ya’ll stop playing. Everybody out there including “Smokin’ Jim” Frazier knows Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians was fired…in a nice way that is. You know the Rooneys’ fire you nice. The man is only 55 years old, has never had a losing season with the Steelers, had three 12-4 seasons and three Super Bowl appearances… and you say he retired, c’mon man !!!

:05 I am a Steelers man cradle to the grave, my old man is a Steelers man. That said I don’t care who wins the Super Bowl. But I hate New England enough to hope the Giants win in an upset, Giants 31-Pats 24. Take it to the bank…but wait in line a few minutes.

:04 Tiger is starting to growl a little. It’s not a roar yet but it’s coming. Woods shot a six under 66 to share the lead going into the last round of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. (The what?) Anyway he finished tied for third and is now ranked 117 in the world. Trust me that will change.

:03 I curse you Miami Heat, I curse you. Nothing real serious, just enough to keep you from winning the NBA East and keep me from giving my money to Fred Crawford and Derrick Shelton. Help me Lord, help me Lord.

:01 Those of you that think you know me think that I played basketball somewhere in the City League. But those of you that really know me know that I played football at Penn Hills. And I was pretty good…oh shut up and just check the Penn Hills Hall of Fame!! My running back from that class of “70” Doug Brown and I went on a visit to Penn State and sat and talked to the legendary Joe Paterno.

I tried to convince Coach Paterno that I could play there. Well by now you know the end of this story. Doug played two years there before he blew out his knee and I didn’t have the talent or grades to go or play there. So I did my time at Slippery Rock University. But here’s the point. Coach Paterno took time to talk to me and he listened even though he knew my talent level didn’t match up and I know he could have been doing 1,000 other things at the time…flash forward to 2009. Coach Terry Smith of Gateway, a Nittany Lion alumni and former star player had JoPa as a guest at a Gateway basketball game…I go over to say hi to Coach Paterno and you know he actually said, yeah I remember you…No He Did Not! But he wanted to make me feel good, as he did in 1970. That’s the kind of man he was, a man that wanted others to feel good…not bad. That error in judgment should not and will not tarnish the greatness of Coach Joe Paterno. And yeah I felt good.

:00 The Super Bowl Party to be at will be at JT’s at the Club this Sunday at 5. It all starts with a live taping of Champions Live Sports Talk Show from 4-6 p.m. Everybody’s welcome and then it’s game time. And yes Richard Portis, the Diamond Models will be there…and all the down home cookin you can eat.
