Christmas in August

AUG. 13—Bidwell Presbyterian Church, 1025 Liverpool St., North Side, will host its 2nd Annual Christmas in August Festival from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. This is a day of rejoicing with the Lord in prayer and praise. There will be games from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., followed by a presenter from 1:30- 3 p.m. and more. All proceeds will benefit the Bidwell Presbyterian Church stained glass window installation project. Community Day

AUG. 13—Homewood AMEZ Church, 724 N. Homewood Ave., Homewood, will host its Community Day from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Homewood Avenue and Bennett Street. Bible Academy

AUG. 15—Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church, 6111 Rodman St., East Liberty, will host its Street University Bible Academy from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Classes will be held Mondays through Aug 29 and will feature a course for singles, the theme is “In Search of the Proverbs 31 Man.” This course is designed for Singles who want to know what qualities are a must in a potential mate, for Single Men who want to know what kind of man God esteems, and for Single Women who want to know how to be a help meet and a soul mate. AUG. 20—The Education Department of Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty, will host its 4th Annual Back to School Celebration from 1-4 p.m. The theme is “I Got Your Back.” This celebration is for the youth of the community, especially in the East Liberty area, and will provide pre-school to high school students with school supplies.
