Champion Enterprises joined forces with the Office of County Executive Dan Onorato, Chuck Sanders Charities, Goodrich and Goodrich Law Firm and Richard Fitzgerald to present the 10th Annual Pittsburgh and Allegheny County Public Service Awards.

The event is held each year to recognize and honor our local heroes in the memory of the tragedy of 9/11.

This year’s program proved to be the best to date, as special honors went to Leah Williams Duncan and the family of Coach Scott Lang. The well loved La Roche basketball coach recently passed away from a sudden heart attack.

BILL NEAL welcomes the audience

As the norm for Champions events, many of Pittsburgh’s top celebrities were on hand for the occasion including former Duquesne University and Boston Celtics Star B.B. Flenory, Richard Fitzgerald and Light Heavyweight World Boxing Champion Rayco Saunders, just to name a few.

Additional honors went to Mark Lewis, executive director of the Poise Foundation; Rev. Cornell Jones; as well as representatives of the Office of District Attorney Stephen Zappala, The Pennsylvania State Police and The U. S. Army.
