Super Bowl XLV will be played in Dallas on Feb. 6. There are many fans and supporters of both teams converging in Dallas and the surrounding areas. If the game itself can be considered a cash cow, then maybe we should define all of the perimeter events attached to it as a cash “herd.”

MARY MARY will be one of many gospel acts that will include Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Marvin Sapp, Israel and James Fortune.

There are activities for everyone. Let’s first take a look at one of the prime movers and shakers that helps to get the fan base of the Pittsburgh Steelers Nation to and from the big game, as well as keeping them busy after they arrive. According to the Steelers website; the team has selected PrimeSport as the Official Travel Partner to provide access for travel, hotel, airfare and pre-game parties.

“It’s been an unbelievable season with many exciting moments and the team is ready to head back to the Super Bowl after winning it in 2008,” said Steelers Director of Marketing Tony Quatrini. “We have incredible, loyal fans and our partnership with PrimeSport offers them safe and dependable accommodations for the Super Bowl.”

“We sell this event in two ways,” said Sam Soni, president of PrimeSport. “We fulfill the demand of people and companies that want to go to the Super Bowl. Those packages usually include accommodations and a hospitality venue on sight as well. Those packages include game tickets. We also do air travel packages, and game tickets as well. We provide the official fan travel for the Pittsburgh Steelers. That package includes airfare and accommodations for three nights as well as hospitality and the game ticket. For those who are really busy, we have a same day package for $4200 where you can fly into Dallas the morning of the game, enjoy all the pregame hospitality and the game and then fly back immediately after the game concludes.” For more information visit or call 1-800-591-9198.

Now if you’re looking for some real “soul food,” such as Gospel music, then you’ve found it.

Atlanta-based Results Media & Marketing Inc., will be in Dallas to produce its 12th Super Bowl Gospel Celebration, an NFL sanctioned event during Super Bowl Weekend.

The Super Bowl Gospel Celebration brings top NFL players and Grammy Award-winning gospel artists together on one stage for an evening of inspirational testimonies, soul-stirring music and empowering messages. Since its inception the event has drawn thousands, selling out venues in key Super Bowl host cities; is the only inspiration event aired on ESPN; and was named by USA Today as “One of the Best Super Bowl Events to Attend.”

SBGC has featured some of the NFL’s biggest names. “It’s really great to be able to take off our helmets and share another side of our lives with our fans,” shared Pro Bowler Ovie Mughelli. “This event really allows players to connect with the audience and with other players that share their faith.”

Mary Mary and Donnie McClurkin will spotlight this years’ event. For more information and tickets visit http://www.superbowl or follow the event at http://www.facebook/ superbowlgospel and SuperBowlGospel or call 404-827-8116.

There are also events that are good for the body and the soul, The Taste of The NFL. According to their website; “Since 1992, the Taste of the NFL has rallied the country’s top chefs and the NFL’s greatest to raise money in support of food banks throughout the United States. The efforts culminate at the Super Bowl with The Party with a Purpose. This event is a unique way to experience exceptional cuisine, meet NFL players and coaches and support the fight against hunger. Through the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who help make Taste of the NFL the single most successful charitable event at the Super Bowl, It helps feed 37 million Americans who have turned to their local food banks for assistance. Millions of needy, thousands of families and dozens of new hunger projects have been affected by this major volunteer effort. Our goal: end hunger. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank is the local regional hunger fighting agency that is just one of the recipients’ of this great event. For more information visit or 952-835-7621.
