Just when you think there is nowhere new to shop, Toni Phinisee and Elizabeth Sanford, (fashion chairpersons) located fresh new places to find great looks.

On May 1 at Homewood AMEZ Church, the Women’s Day Committee sponsored their fashion and hat show luncheon, “Fashion Walks and Talks.”

THREE OF A KIND—The same outfit in three colors. Take your pick.

Inspired by You (Greensburg, Pa.) specializes in designer women’s clothes and accessories and brought Greensburg to Pittsburgh with unique fashions by Clara S., Angel, Alberto Malki, Valentino, Frank Layman and Jillanova. It was clear to see that many ladies will be taking a short trip to Greensburg to check out the fashions.

Cindy Burns, owner of Fedora Pittsburgh Hats, had the perfect hat to complement the chic suits and dresses. Fedora Pittsburgh Hats can be found on certain Saturdays in the Strip District and at Occasion Dresses in Squirrel Hill.

The show featured easygoing looks, ethnic excitement, Sunday’s finest and unforgettable styles. Gloria Bland, Keris Clark, Rose Loker, Debbie McDaniel, Mary Pryor, Darlene Ross, Twanda Dennis, Jean Randall, Hawthorne Conley, and Arthur Outen were on the model roster. The models were assisted by Mary Ann Howard, Toni Phinisee, Sheila Johnson, Cynthia Davis and Pauline Kinsey. Without a good back stage assistant, the show cannot go on. Keris Clark did double duty and performed a beautiful vocal selection accompanied by Arlene Dye on piano. Also on the program were Denyse Littles-Cullens and Sylvia Berry.

The fashion show was a portion of Homewood AMEZ Church Women’s Day activities chaired by Loretta Sutton, and Yvonne Smith (co-chair) where Rev. Stanley C. Dennison is pastor.
