The inclement weather didn’t keep more than 200 from celebrating Valentine’s Day with the men of the Kappa Scholarship Endowment Fund for the 19th annual KSEF Valentine’s Day Scholarship Ball at the Edgewood County Club Feb. 13.

This year’s theme was “My Funny Valentine” and comedian David “The Frog” Bey put the funny into the evening with a set that made the whole room laugh.

WELCOME TO THE BALL—Gwen and Malcolm Blount, Pittsburgh Alumni Chapter, Polemarch.

Rex Crawley, KSEF board president, says, “We try to think out of the box and added the comedian to the line up.” The entertainment included the Smooth Grove Band and DJ Mac. Guests enjoyed dining, dancing and striking a pose for photographer Ahmad Sandidge.

Pittsburgh Alumni Chapter Polemarch, Malcolm A. Blount says the planning committee worked hard to make the evening one of the best in history and they want to especially thank their sponsors: Highmark, Community College of Allegheny County and Robert Morris University.

The most heart-warming part of the evening was when the Kappa’s serenaded their sweetheart’s with these words: “You’re as pretty as a picture and as sweet as you can be; I love you so sincerely, you are all this world to me; and if ever I should lose you it would surely break my heart; for I love you, I adore you; you’re my Kappa Alpha Psi sweetheart.”

Crawley says next year will mark Kappa Alpha Psi’s 100th year of existence and KSEF’s 20th year.

“Yes it will be a year of celebration for the men of Kappa Alpha Psi and we ask that you join us as we celebrate. Next year’s scholarship Ball will not be the one to miss so please mark your calendars for Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011.”
