FUTURE LEGENDS—Pittsburgh Next Generation of Music Legends, is a newly founded nonprofit group formed to create educational and career opportunities for talented urban youth musicians to develop their skills under the guidance of professional musicians and music educators. The group unveiled a pre-college strategic initiative designed for students between the sixth and 12th grades who are interested in exploring music as a career. Students will be exposed to more than a dozen careers in the industry such as music technology , engineering, production, performance, education and songwriting. The group held auditions at the August Wilson Cultural Center recently. Above left: Don Patterson, one of the founders of the program, speaks with parents and potential students about the program.
