Brashear is tied with Perry at the top of the City League wrestling standings; both are at 4-0. But the Bulls feature a certain wrester who may end up in the history books, before it’s all said and done.
Godwin Nyama has won City titles in his first two seasons with Brashear. He is looking to become the first to win a title all four years of high school. He’s also got aspirations to become the first City League wrestler to land a spot on a Division I roster.
But according to him, his “biggest motivation” is to win a state title—a feat that no one has achieved in the sport’s 22-year history in the League.

The Looney Rule

May Day, May Day, red phone ringin’, red phone singin’, head coach going down, no head coach gone down. No, folks this is not one of the scenes from the Black cinema classic, “Pootytang” that I happened to steal from the cutting room floor a few years ago.
This is some reality TV type craziness. Pitt hired Mike Haywood, who led Miami (Ohio) to the MAC championship during the 2010 season after Dave Wannestedt resigned as the Panthers head football coach under duress. Now less than a month after he was hired as the first African-American head men’s football coach in the history of the university, Haywood has been unceremoniously dismissed as a result of some serious “felonious” domestic battery charges levied against him.

Inside Conditions...Rest and recuperation

The Pittsburgh Steelers annihilated the Cleveland Browns Sunday with the score of 41-9. The debacle disguised as an NFL game, played at “the mistake by the lake” insured the Steelers Nation that their squad would have a week “bye” to lick their wounds and to get healthy and prepare for their next opponent. It also gave the boys’ from Cleveland a few hours “bye” in order to fire their head coach, Eric Mangini barely before the players cleaned out their lockers for the season.
The Steelers are now the No. 2 seed in the AFC, after winning the AFC North crown. The New England Patriots are the No. 1 seed and have been for what seems to be almost the entire NFL 2010 season. As far as the Patriots go; they appear to be very, very, frightening. No team, absolutely no team should have a desire to travel to Foxboro to face the Patriots under any weather conditions rain, snow, sleet or shine.
