:10 Now all of you know I never mean any harm. As a matter of fact my intentions are only to help. So here are a couple of things to help you.
#1. Ladies if your wearing those skin tight black tights don’t look at us like we’re not supposed to look when you walk by. That’s why you put them on…yes it is…yes it is!
#2. L-I-S-T-E-N to me on this, the black tights of which we speak are not for everybody…they’re just not, honest!
#3. How in the world can we get the kids to pull their pants up when their walking hand in hand with their fathers and they got their pants down! C’mon man.
:09 As of the writing of this column, Tiger is four strokes back. I’ll go out on a limb and say he wins the British Open. Hell, I’ve been wrong once before in my life—ok twice, but I still say the refs gave the “Heat” the NBA Title! Neal…let it go, man. Ok, but I am just saying.
:08 I keep asking you to do it and I’ll keep asking until you do. Call the Pitt Athletic Department. Be soft and gentle, especially you 5th Avenue folks. And tell them they need to retire Sam “The Bam” Clancy’s uniform. Clancy is one of Pitt’s all time greatest players and without question is the man that changed Pitt basketball to the physical game it is today. Do it…do it now!!! 412-624-4141 (And you don’t have to give your name…you know some of you still owe Pitt some money.)
:07 If you don’t have NBA-TV you need to get it. They’re showing you all the NBA summer league games and the future stars; and the non-stop action of the USA Olympic Team. And oh, by the way …the original Dream Team would beat this team by 10-15 points. This team has no answer for Magic, Jordan or Bird but most importantly absolutely no answer for Patrick Ewing, David Robinson and Sir Charles inside the paint!!
:06 Steelers go to camp this week. “Let’s Get It On!”
:05 Who knew “Smokin’ Jim” Frazier was a front page writer…huh?
:04 I ain’t going to see no movie at midnight! I am just saying. I ain’t going to see no movie…no where at midnight. Not Batman, not Superman, not Man-Man… not nobody MMAANN…I am just saying!
:03 You know how I was always talking bad about the Pittsburgh Pirates? Well those days are over. Your Pittsburgh Pirates are one game out of first place, 13 games over .500, have the league’s MVP and the park is jumping. Go to a game, enjoy it while you can. Speaking of the Pirates, and I was. Hats off to our main man at the Pirates’ office, Chaz Kellum. He gets it done and he gets it done right!!!
:02 If you’re not doing anything Monday or Tuesday for the next two weeks come out to “The New” Connie Hawkins Youth Development League. It’s the best basketball in town, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. games at the Penn Hills YMCA Frankstown Road next to Rita’s Ice. These 14-year-old boys are our future stars and they do - be - ballin! Call 412-628-4856 for info on the playoffs and championship.
:01 I keep telling ya and I keep tell ya but you must only be half listening. You need hear of this. This is about to be the Par-Tay of the year. I mean big… really big!!! “Jazz on the Greens” proudly presents the Tim Stevens/Leonard Johnson Project starring the legendary Kenny Blake on sax and Pgh’s No. 1 female vocalist Sandy Green …One Night Only…Together for The Jazz Set of the Year—Doors open at special time, 7:30 p.m., showtime 9-11 p.m. First come/first seat—no reserved tables—inside banquet room & outside patio undercover—cash bar—cash kitchen—free parking —vendors—50/50 raffle and prizes—special award presentation for new State Rep. :00 Double Overtime: I’ll bring you all you need to know about the Penn State blow-up next week. But let me warn ya…there will be blood! I am not happy about this. Not one bit!!!
:00 Triple Overtime: Don’t go to sleep on the Terry Smith situation. The fight is still on.
