| MURPHY HICKERSON |
A Canonsburg woman, who had been missing for more than a week, was found dead in a Belle Vernon parking lot early May 9.
Murphy Hickerson, 43, who was last seen at her Canonsburg home on April 28, was reportedly found in a parked vehicle in a Gabriel Brother’s parking lot on Finley Road in Belle Vernon. It has not been confirmed how her body was discovered, the cause of death is unknown, but an autopsy is scheduled for later today.
When last reported by the New Pittsburgh Courier, Hickerson had been missing and detectives had no leads to her disappearance. Detective Al Coghill, of the Canonsburg Police Department and the lead detective during the missing investigation, could not be reached for comment.
Her family had been concerned because Hickerson, who had received a double organ transplant last year and was on anti-rejection medication, had disappeared and appeared to not have all her medication with her.
Further details will come as they are released.
