On Dec. 15 at the beautiful Edgewood County Club, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter, held their Pink Ice Ball.
On this chilly evening guests mixed and mingled by the inviting fireplaces before they took their seats inside the exquisitely decorated ballroom.
Christina Wilds, chapter president, welcomed the crowd and Lula Hortman, chapter chaplain, performed the invocation. More than 200 guests enjoyed a delightful meal and a scrumptious dessert buffet.
Remarks were made by event co-chairs Andrea Brown and Geil Wesley Williams. The soundtrack was provided by Bashir and You Jazz Group and DJ Mac.
Alpha Alpha Omega began in 1926 and was finally organized in 1927 by eight insightful young women. Since its chartering, Alpha Alpha Omega has continued to uphold the ideals of the sorority through providing scholarship funds, financially supporting needy organizations, and spending goodwill throughout the community. The chapter is proud of its leadership, including several past and present members who have extended their service as national officers.
Alpha Alpha Omega is also the mentoring graduate chapter to six undergraduate chapters: Iota, Alpha Sigma, Kappa Beta, Kappa Zeta, Mu Omicron and Rho Rho. Alpha Alpha Omega’s graduate advisors help the young college students navigate their way through “service.”
